Why switch to Xendy?

Xendy offers the same core functionality as ActiveCampaign, but without the complexity and high costs:

  • No high monthly costs – Try Xendy free for 7 days, then pay from €9 per month. No price explosion as you grow.
  • Clear automations – Automations for e-commerce, follow-up and segmentation, but intuitive and without an overcrowded interface.
  • Easy migration – Import your contacts and lists in a few clicks via a CSV or Excel upload; you can quickly rebuild your email templates in Xendy's builder.
  • Dutch support – Direct help in Dutch, included with every subscription.
  • Free migration assistance – Schedule an appointment and we'll make the switch together in 30 minutes.

Preparing for the switch

Good preparation makes the migration smooth. Go through this checklist:

  1. Gather your account information – Make sure you have admin access in ActiveCampaign.
  2. Take stock of what you have – Decide what you want to bring over:
    • Contacts: export active subscribers only.
    • Templates: note which email templates you want to recreate in Xendy.
    • Campaign insights: save performance data for reference.
  3. Clean up your contact list – Remove invalid addresses, duplicates and unsubscribed contacts. Segment your audience for an organized import.
  4. Decide which automations you want to rebuild – Note the triggers, timing and email content for each workflow (e.g. welcome emails, abandoned cart).
  5. Prepare for domain verification – Make sure you have access to your domain's DNS settings (e.g. via GoDaddy or Namecheap). Xendy will provide the required DNS records during the setup process.

Exporting contacts from ActiveCampaign

  1. Log in to ActiveCampaign.com.
  2. Go to Lists & segments via the left menu and select the list or segment you want to export.
  3. Export to CSV – Click the 'Manage list' dropdown menu in the top right and choose 'Export list to CSV'.
  4. Download the file – Save the CSV file somewhere easy to find on your computer.
  5. Check and clean the file:
    • Validate email addresses for formatting errors.
    • Remove unsubscribed, suppressed or bounced contacts.
    • Make sure field labels (name, email, custom attributes) are clear for mapping during import.

Importing contacts into Xendy

  1. Log in to Xendy.me and go to your dashboard.
  2. Go to All contacts via the left menu.
  3. Click 'Add contacts' in the top right.
  4. Upload your file – Choose the 'Upload contacts' option and drag your CSV file into the upload window, or select it from your computer.

Make sure your CSV file is clean (see the export step) before importing, so your list is ready to use right away.

Next steps after the import

After importing your contacts, there are three more steps to get fully up and running in Xendy:

  1. Rebuild your campaigns and automations – Recreate your workflows based on the notes you made during preparation.
  2. Verify your domain – Add the DNS records provided by Xendy so you can send emails from your own domain.
  3. Send your first email – Test your setup by sending your first campaign.
