Preparing for the switch

Good preparation makes for a smooth migration. Go through this checklist before you get started:

  1. Gather your account details – Make sure you have access to your Mailblue account and that you have admin rights.
  2. Review your Mailblue data – Take stock of what you want to bring over:
    • Contacts: export active subscribers only.
    • Templates: note which email templates you want to recreate.
    • Campaign insights: save performance data for reference.
  3. Clean up your contact list – Remove invalid addresses, duplicates, and unsubscribed contacts. Segment your audience for an organized import.
  4. Decide which automations you'll recreate – Make a list of your workflows (e.g. welcome emails, abandoned cart reminders) and note triggers, timing, and email content.
  5. Prepare for domain verification – Make sure you have access to your domain's DNS settings. Xendy will guide you through adding the required DNS records.

Exporting contacts from Mailblue

Follow these steps to download your contacts from Mailblue:

  1. Log in to your Mailblue account at mailblue.nl.
  2. Go to Contacts via the top navigation menu. Use filters or the search bar to select the right list.
  3. Export the list – Click the 'More actions' dropdown, choose 'Export', and select the CSV format.
  4. Download the file – You'll receive a notification with a download link. Save the CSV file to your computer.
  5. Check and clean up the file:
    • Make sure email addresses are valid and correctly formatted.
    • Remove unsubscribed or bounced contacts.
    • Make sure fields like name, email, and custom data are correctly labeled.
