Setting up the connection

The connection starts in the back-end of your store. Log in via yourdomain.com/wp-admin/ and follow these steps:

  1. In WooCommerce, go to Settings → Advanced → REST API.
  2. Click Add key, give the key set a name (e.g. Xendy), set the permissions to Read and create the key.
  3. Copy the Consumer Key and Consumer Secret.
  4. Go to Xendy and select Settings → Store from the left menu.
  5. Choose WooCommerce and paste the Consumer Key, Consumer Secret, and your store URL.
  6. Click Connect. Xendy will immediately start the first import. You can track the progress in the bottom left of the dashboard.

Xendy WordPress plugin

After connecting your WooCommerce store, you can install the Xendy Connect plugin. This plugin is designed for collecting abandoned shopping carts.

  1. Download the plugin via Settings → Store in the left menu of Xendy. You will download a zip file with a name like xendy-connect-x.x.x.zip.
  2. Go to Plugins in WordPress and upload the plugin. Activate the plugin after installation.
  3. Go to Xendy in the left menu of WordPress and paste the API key that you can find in Xendy. Click Save to activate the connection.

Sending extra fields from WooCommerce

On top of the standard sync, you can also send custom fields to Xendy, like a VIP status, loyalty points, or a training date.

How does it work?

  • Send extra fields via the customer or order endpoints in WooCommerce.
  • Always use the prefix xendy_ in the field name, for example xendy_vip_status or xendy_training_date.
  • Xendy automatically recognizes these fields and saves them to the contact profile.

What can you do with them?

  • The fields are available as filter rules in dynamic segments.
  • In the email editor, add them using the @ sign, for example @xendy_vip_status or @xendy_company_name.
  • This way you can segment customers by loyalty points, send reminder emails based on a training date, or open emails with the customer's company name.

Frequently asked questions

Xendy automatically pulls data from WooCommerce once a day, overnight. That way your data stays up to date without you having to do anything yourself. If the data can't be fetched, you'll proactively receive an email notification.

Yep, with WooCommerce data you can create dynamic segments in Xendy. You can filter on:

  • The number of purchases a customer has made
  • The total order value
  • How long ago someone last placed an order
  • Specific products or product categories that have or haven't been purchased

This makes it easy to target campaigns at recently ordering customers, loyal buyers with a high order value, or customers who haven't been active in a while.
