Create an access token in Shopify (one-time setup)

You start in the Shopify Dev Dashboard. Go to dev.shopify.com and follow these steps:

  1. Create a new app or open an existing app in your Shopify Dev Dashboard.
  2. Give the app a name (e.g. Xendy) and save it.
  3. Make sure the following scopes are enabled for the app:
    • read_customers
    • read_orders
    • read_all_orders
    • read_products
  4. Copy the Client ID and the Client Secret of the app. You'll need both in Xendy shortly.

Connect Shopify in Xendy

Once you've created the app, connect Shopify in Xendy:

  1. In Xendy, go to Settings → Web store.
  2. Choose Shopify and fill in the three fields: Store domain, Client ID and Client Secret.
  3. Click Connect.

Xendy verifies your details, saves the connection and immediately starts the first import — all in one step. You'll see a confirmation message once the connection is successful. Use the Continue button to go to the status card to monitor the progress.

If you're editing an existing connection, the store domain is already pre-filled. You only need to re-enter your Client ID and Client Secret.

How often is data fetched?

Xendy syncs your Shopify data once a day, overnight. You don't have to do anything for this. If the sync fails, you'll automatically receive an email notification.

Frequently asked questions

Yep, with Shopify data you can create dynamic segments in Xendy. You can filter by:

  • Number of purchases
  • Total order value
  • How long ago someone last placed an order
  • Specific products or product categories that have or haven't been purchased

This makes it easy to target campaigns at, for example, recent buyers, loyal customers with a high order value, or customers who haven't been active in a while.
